ABB Ability™ Edge Industrial gateway
ABB Ability™ Edge Industrial gateway is an independent IoT gateway which can gather data from field devices as well as consumption of water, gas, etc. and connect to the system to ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager, the cloud platform. As a result, all the downstream field devices can be monitored from the cloud via Ethernet cable, WiFi or cellular connectivity.
ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager Architecture
ABB Ability™ Energy and Asset Manager enables the collection of relevant information from ABB devices installed in low- and medium-voltage power distribution system as well as environmental parameters (temperature, water, gas). These devices can be connected, plug and play, to the ABB Ability™ cloud-computing platform by sharing data either with Emax 2, Ekip UP, Tmax XT and TruONE™ (equipped with Ekip Com Hub) or with the ABB Ability™ Edge Industrial gateway via Modbus RS-485 or Modbus TCP.
The new gateway integrates low- and medium-voltage environments and also offers an offline monitoring functionality with a direct connection to the local network and a local data storage.
